  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • 2-3 green chilies, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron soaked in 2 tablespoons milk (optional)

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Marinate the Meat

First, in a large bowl, mix chicken or mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour. For best results, marinate overnight.

Step 2: Cook the Rice
Meanwhile, boil water in a large pot with cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, and salt. Then, add soaked rice and cook until it is 70% done. Afterward, drain the water and set the rice aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Biryani Base
Next, heat oil in a heavy pan and fry onions until golden brown. Additionally, add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coriander, mint, and garam masala. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Then, add the marinated meat and cook until tender.
