Karachi Issues Traffic Diversions for PIMEC 2025 | Karachi Update

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police has announced new traffic diversion routes for the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC) 2025, scheduled at the Expo Centre. The plan aims to keep traffic smooth and help visitors reach the venue easily despite the heavy flow expected during the event.

New Traffic Routes Announced

Starting November 5 to 7, 2025, traffic officials will redirect vehicles from Hasan Square, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and University Road toward alternative routes. Heavy vehicles will not enter the Expo Centre area during exhibition hours.

Moreover, commuters are encouraged to use Lyari Expressway, Sir Shah Suleman Road, and Jail Chowrangi for faster travel. Traffic wardens will remain stationed at all key intersections to guide drivers and prevent congestion. Clear signboards have already been installed to assist the public.

Support for Visitors and Exhibitors

To make travel easier, the police have arranged special parking zones near Karsaz, National Stadium Road, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Additionally, shuttle vans will transport visitors between these parking areas and the Expo Centre throughout the day.

Furthermore, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and district administration are cooperating with traffic authorities to ensure proper road management. Emergency lanes will remain clear for ambulances and public transport.

Significance of PIMEC 2025

PIMEC 2025 plays a major role in promoting Pakistan’s maritime trade, shipbuilding, and port industries. This year, delegations from over 30 countries will participate, making it one of the city’s most significant international exhibitions.

Therefore, managing traffic efficiently has become essential for presenting Karachi as a modern and organized global hub. The city administration hopes the improved planning will enhance Karachi’s image and strengthen its maritime industry.

Public Advisory for Citizens

The Karachi Traffic Police urges citizens to follow their official social media pages for real-time updates on diversions. Meanwhile, commuters are advised to plan their routes in advance and prefer public transport to avoid delays.

Overall, this initiative highlights Karachi’s efforts to balance development with effective city management. Through coordinated planning, authorities aim to ensure that PIMEC 2025 runs smoothly for both visitors and residents.
